Biography
Hello there, I’m Dr. Hillary Ammon (she/her). I founded the Center for Anxiety and Women’s Emotional Wellness to provide specialized, effective treatment to those struggling with anxiety and anyone who identifies as a woman.
After years of working within hospital settings, most recently at the University of Pennsylvania, I decided to take a bit of my own advice and live a life that better aligns with my values, by striking a balance of work and family life and creating this private practice.
I am passionate about working with women and clients with anxiety, both unique populations, and providing tailored-care and a virtual space to reflect, approach, problem-solve, and change.
I am a certified Exposure and Response Prevention therapist and Prolonged Exposure therapist through the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania. I have successfully treated clients with OCD, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, grief-related disorders, perfectionism, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), misophonia, and avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). I have also worked with clients with ADHD, depression and other mood disorders, disordered eating, and personality disorders.
As someone that identifies as a woman, I noticed disparities and a lack of both empathy and understanding from my medical providers. This realization heavily influenced my decision to make space for woman-centered therapy within my practice. While still evidence-based, therapy is tailored to meet your needs, as someone that identifies as a woman or birthing person.
I am licensed through APIT & PSYPACT (10498) and I am able to see clients virtually in AL, AZ, AR, CO, DE, D.C., GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MN, MS, NE, NH, NJ, NC, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI via Telehealth.
