After training in Dundee, I did my Orthopaedic training on the Birmingham rotation. I was appointed Consultant in Nottingham in 2006 and moved to Rotherham in 2008 where I was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery. In 2009 I was made Clinical Director for the Orthopaedic Department My main interest is foot and ankle surgery, in which I am fellowship trained. I carriy out the whole range of foot and ankle procedures, from toe surgery to complex foot and ankle reconstructions. I also do toe and ankle replacements for arthritis, and ankle arthroscopy. I am also trained in Sports Medicine and can offer advice regarding non-operative treatment of a large number of sport related conditions. My other interests include arthroscopic knee surgery, replacement surgery for the knee including both total and partial knee replacements, and primary hip replacements. I am still actively involved in teaching both medical students, trainee doctors and physicians associates. As an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor, I have worked regionally to develop and enhance the provision of trauma services in South Yorkshire. More recently, I was involved as clinical lead for the paediatric surgery clinical network for south yorkshire, bassetlaw and north derbyshire All my joint replacements are registered on the NJR
