I qualified in medicine in 1992. Following that I joined Manipal Academy of Higher Education for a three-year residency programme leading to a Master's degree in orthopaedic surgery in one of the most elite institutes in the subcontinent, which I completed in 1995 with a thesis on thoracolumbar spinal injuries. I came to the United Kingdom in 1996 and joined the Orthopaedic Department at various hospitals in the UK. I completed my Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Southeast Thames Rotation obtaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 2002. Following completion of my training programme I did a year of Fellowship in Training in Spinal Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and following that a year in Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery in Ashford and St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey in their Reconstruction Unit. I joined Kettering General Hospital in 2006 as Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. I am actively involved in training and education of undergraduate and postgraduate students at Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Deanery. My private practice is based at the Ramsay Woodland Hospital. My special interests include: - Degenerative condition of the lumbar spine - Minimally invasive pain management and injection treatments of the spine - Lower limb primary arthroplasty - Arthroscopic surgery of the knee - Secondary trauma surgery - Carpal tunnel surgery - Tigger finger surgery/ganglion excision - Bunion and toe corrective surgery.
