He has experience in treating high-profile actors, directors, musicians, and professional athletes from international rugby players to UFC fighters. He takes a patient-centred approach to care, tailoring his treatments (both surgical and non-surgical) to each individual. Where surgery is required, he uses cutting-edge procedures and uses minimally invasive techniques wherever possible to obtain the best outcomes and a faster recovery time. Mr Colaço has a particular interest in reconstructive arthroscopic (keyhole) surgical procedures for the treatment of bone loss in shoulder instability, irrepairable rotator cuff tears, and biceps tendon injuries. Mr Colaço completed his surgical and orthopaedic training in London after graduating with distinction from Imperial College School of Medicine. He completed two fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery and complex upper limb surgery and was awarded the renowned BESS Travelling Fellowship, which he completed in Paris and Lyon. He is the Clinical Lead for Upper Limb Surgery at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Surgical Lead for sustainability. He is a founding member of The Shoulder Practice and The London Shoulder Meeting. He is widely published, teaches at national and international conferences and is actively involved in clinical research and the use of simulation to train junior surgeons.
