Christina van der Feltz-Cornelis, psychiatrist-psychotherapist and epidemiologist, holds a Chair in Psychiatry and Epidemiology at the Dept. of Health Sciences and HYMS, University of York, UK since 2018. ORCID 0000-0001-6925-8956 ​@VanFeltz Christina was recently awarded the PsychoSocial Aspects of Diabetes (PSAD) science award (2022). She interviewed Stephen Fry on mental health in students in the COVID-era. She is CI to the CANDO study. She was awarded the BMA FOUNDATION J Moulton award to conduct a study exploring the effect of an anti-inflammatory drug in Functional Neurological Disorder(FND). She leads the York team of the EU funded EMPOWER project for better mental health and better workplaces that is led by Spain and in which four countries including the UK evaluate a digital intervention to improve wellbeing at work. She held her inaugural lecture at the University of York: “Stressed out? Stress, Work Stress and Physical Symptoms” in February 2020. She is a co-Investigator of the STIMULATE-ICP study: The largest clinical trial in the UK that aims to develop and evaluate integrated care for long COVID in the UK, led by UCL and funded by NIHR. ​She is a co-Investigator on the Frequent Users Of The Emergency Department: Improving And Standardising Services-a Mixed Methods Study, led by the UNiversity of Leeds and funded by NIHR. She was a co-Investigator of a mixed-methods study on GP wellbeing in the COVID era. She supervised 14 PhD students to completion. She held an endowed Chair for GGz Breburg as full Professor of Social Psychiatry at Tranzo, Tilburg University, the Netherlands, from 2010 till 2019. She collaborated in several EU funded research projects: ROAMER, an EU funded KP7 project establishing a research agenda for mental health care; the European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) and Optimizing Suicide Prevention programs and their Implementation in Europe (OSPI). She led the first collaborative care trials for somatoform disorders, depression and anxiety in the Netherlands, and as the lead of the national Depression Initiative (2006-2012), she laid a foundation for primary care mental health and collaborative care as an integrated care model in the Netherlands. She was awarded the distinction of International Fellow at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) in recognition of her significant contributions to Psychiatry in 2013.
