I am fully qualified Integrative Counsellor with a Diploma in Counselling from The Minster Centre. This is one of the leading counselling and psychotherapy trainings in the UK and involves a significant amount of self-reflective practice. Its courses are accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I have completed one year of further training on the Advanced Diploma/MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy course. I have also undertaken many additional trainings as part of my commitment to continuing professional development.I am a registered member of BACP and I am committed to integrating its ethical framework into my practice. I have four years’ experience working at Riverside Counselling Service, a low-cost service serving clients in Oxfordshire. I have worked with people from diverse communities and backgrounds with a wide range of issues. I have also worked as part of the safeguarding and assessment team there. I run a private practice from The Cherry Tree Centre in Henley-on-Thames and The Ridgeway Community Church in Wallingford. Before actualising my decades-old vocation to be a therapist, I worked in education with early years and primary aged children in inner-city schools. I taught English to refugees and immigrants in the UK and for a charity abroad. These different experiences have given me an understanding of the impact that the different parts of a person's environment can have on their mental and physical health and on their sense of 'being in the world'. I am committed to questioning my own assumptions in the process of understanding my clients, and to making my practice accessible to all communities, backgrounds and identities.
