I am a qualified Occupational Therapist with over 8 years experience working in the area of community mental health. I am passionate to see others achieve their potential, overcome adversity and in particular enhance their mental health. I enjoy empowering people to try strategies, learn about themselves and widen their comfort zone. I believe in the power of activity as a therapeutic tool and that opportunities for community bring about change. These values are key to the work I do; whether it be with service users and their family, colleagues or students that I supervise or through the training events and group treatment I facilitate. I have recently achieved a postgraduate diploma in Sensory Integration, with Sensory Integration practitioner status. I am on a journey, finding new and creative ways to promote good mental health, having left the NHS to look at earlier intervention in the charity sector and taking on voluntary opportunities to advocate at a community level.
