Diandra Medina is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in the mental health field since 2008. Although a majority of her experience tends to be in the inpatient setting for severe mental illness, she has owned her private practice for over two years now. Her passion as an outpatient provider is in helping increase self-worth and quieting down the negative internal dialogue. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and relational issues.Following obtaining her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, Diandra went on to receive her reiki level 2 and 200 hour yoga teacher training in order to be able to provide a wealth of support in both mind and body for her clients. As a firm believer that in order to receive optimal health, we must learn to not only listen to our thoughts but also our bodies, a mindfulness approach is utilized throughout her work. This in conjunction with the systemic educational training allows for a well rounded support.Message to clientsTaking the time to slow down and be present with yourself, is not something that often makes it to the top of our "To Do" lists. The goal of this therapeutic work is not only to create 50 mins a week dedicated to your personal mental health goals, but also to build up a set of tools and techniques that are available to use throughout the rest of your week. In sessions with me, you can expect to receive the space to restore and recover. Through a collaborative approach that emphasizes the benefits of incorporating both the mind and the body, tackling even the most difficult of goals can become a reality. Whether they be processing something from the past or managing a stressor in the present, through a mindful practice it can be overcome.
