Biography
Deborah Matthews, PhD, is a clinical psychologist who has dedicated her career to serving patients with more challenging issues and fewer financial resources. She provides psychotherapy to teens and adults, as well as supervision and coaching to other mental health professionals. Dr. Matthews has given numerous workshops throughout the region and has also taught psychology courses as an adjunct professor.
Dr. Matthews is a local expert on crisis assessment and intervention, suicidology, and premeditated school violence assessment. She has been interviewed by media including WGCH radio, FOX TV, Greenwich Times, and Stamford Advocate. She has additional expertise in forensic evaluations and geropsychology.
Dr. Matthews received her Doctorate degree from Fordham University and her Bachelors degree from Cornell University. She completed an internship with the Ulster County Mental Health Department and completed a fellowship in Developmental Disabilities at the Westchester Institute for Human Development. She was honored as the recipient of the Mary Bernard Memorial Dissertation Scholarship for her research on Time in Foster Care and Children's Developmental Status.
