I am an experienced, accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor working at North Bar House in Banbury. Whatever brings you to counselling I offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential place for you to be able to express and explore what is going on for you, however difficult or painful that may be. My aim would be to develop with you a trusting relationship, and to support you to develop new awareness and find a way forward. I am a warm, attentive listener and have worked effectively with people experiencing a range of issues including: anxiety; depression; stress; bereavement, grief and loss; life-changes and transitions; trauma; abuse; stress; low self-esteem; identity; relationship issues; academic and work problems; and existential and spiritual issues. My therapeutic style is integrative. From a Person-Centred heart I integrate in aspects of other psychotherapeutic ways of working when helpful, including Transactional Analysis, CBT, Gestalt and psychodynamic approaches.I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work according to BACP ethics. My experience as a psychotherapeutic counsellor has been: in private practice; within a therapy centre; with a bereavement service; with a university counselling service; medical insurance work; and with Employee Assistance Programmes, and I have several year's experience teaching student counsellors.
