Mr Joydeep Sinha is one of our most experienced Orthopaedic Consultants at LBO. He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Kings College Hospital (KCH) since 1996, where he specialises in shoulder and upper limb surgery. His specialist interests are arthroscopic keyhole shoulder and elbow surgery, shoulder replacement, sports injuries, and upper limb trauma. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1985 and went on to complete his surgical SHO training at Hammersmith Hospital and St. Bartholomews Hospital, obtaining expertise in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Orthopaedic Surgery. He undertook his orthopaedic training in London, where he worked on the KCH and South East Thames Orthopaedic rotations. He has also completed fellowships in New York and Seattle, as well as at the Wrightington Hospital in the United Kingdom. During this period, he gained specialist knowledge in trauma, shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery. Since starting as a consultant at KCH Mr Sinha has worked with his colleagues to build the Upper Limb Unit to national and international acclaim. He has also served as the Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics, as well as the Clinical Lead for the Day Surgery Unit; he is currently the Clinical Director for Surgery at KCH, as well as the Joint CAG 2 Leader (Trauma, Orthopaedics, Plastics, and ENT) for Kings Health Partners (KHP). Mr Sinha has delivered talks to GPs and physiotherapists in his community, as well as nationally and internationally, in the field of upper limb injuries and shoulder surgery, with an emphasis on elements of arthroscopic keyhole surgery and shoulder replacement. He also works in Undergraduate Training (Medical Students) and Postgraduate Teaching at Kings College, University of London. He is actively involved in upper limb research at KCH and Kings College, University of London, and has published extensively on general orthopaedics, shoulder, and upper limb surgery. Joydeep is a very experienced and empathetic consultant. He has an excellent reputation among his peers, and has a wonderful bedside manner; he is calm and extremely knowledgeable, and is highly respected by his patients.
