I have a 35 year career in health and social care. Can't believe it has been this long! But, I did start young - age 15 I had my first job working in a nursing home, work experience initially, I was asked to continue doing weekend/holiday shifts whilst I was at school. I tended to be the one that was asked to sit with residents who were dying. This turned out to be a precious gift. I went to university twice to study BioMedical Science initially, found whilst I was interested in the science my preference was working with people, being of service. I worked as a Care Manager for several years until in 2005 I started my training to be an Occupational Therapist. I qualified in 2009. I worked an an OT in Richmond, South West, Southwark and Kensington & Chelsea London for 10 years before moving to the South West. I worked in Bristol, now for Bath and North East Somerset.
