Dr. Yukihiro Nakanishi is a Senior Member in the Moffitt Cancer Center Department of Pathology. Dr. Nakanishi earned his MD and PhD at Gunma University School of Medicine, Gunma, Japan. He completed a Research Fellowship in the Department of Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a Residency in Anatomic Pathology, Department of Pathology at St. Louis University Medical Center. He then completed a Fellowship in Oncologic Surgical Pathology, Department of Pathology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and a Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Pathology, Department of Pathology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Nakanishi joins us from the Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Nakanishi's clinical interests are in gastrointestinal pathology including the pathology of the luminal gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. His research interests include translational/clinicopathological study of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the gastrointestinal system.
