I specialise in Paediatrics and Child Development. I have worked internationally, in UK, USA and Africa, in hospitals, clinics, educational and community settings. I am very experienced in assessing children and young people with a variety of physical, developmental, emotional and learning difficulties. I use standardised assessments, clinical observations, functional and sensory based assessments. I am trained in Sensory Integration Therapy and have completed the CO-OP training and certification. I worked in Tanzania for a UK based NGO, teaching Occupational Therapy applied to Paediatrics at the OT school at Tumiaini Medical University This was a fascinating opportunity where I gained invaluable experience in health and international development. I worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for 6 years, specialising in Paediatrics in schools. Then moving to the East coast, I worked in community and school settings for over 10 years. This was a transformative time, where I developed professional skills, and learnt new and innovative ways of working. On returning to the UK in 2009 I started a limited company and have worked as a consultant therapist at a number of leading child development centres including, Mary Sheridan Centre, Great Portland Street Hospital for Children, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and The Royal Borough of Kingston Children's Services. In 2017 I worked in a number of special schools in Buckinghamshire further developing the OT services whilst working for a private social enterprise. I worked primarily for The Epilepsy Society in 2018, and have just left that contract to take up a post working for the Eden Academy based at Sunshine School for Visually impaired children in Hillingdon borough. I provide a specialised, integrated paediatric OT service with an emphasis on a child centred approach to treatment. I enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team, engaging closely with children, parents, families and other professionals.
