During my clinical rotations, worked with adults and children with many different needs, from patients who need support adapting to life after major surgery to elderly people who need adaptations in ADLS or through assistive devices. Worked in adult rehabilitation and geriatric departments in Vocational training program with wide range of interventions for individuals with a disability, health condition or impairment enabling them to overcome barriers to work. Worked with wide range of patients having - Geriatrics - falls - amputations - burn - arthritis - cerebral palsy - autism - sensory processing disorders - Parkinson’s disease - learning disabilities - stroke - orthopaedics (trauma) Duties included: - undertaking patient assessments of physical, communication, interaction and cognitive skills - planning and providing appropriate treatment and activities - giving advice and arranging support for family members, carers and clients - undertaking general administrative tasks, for example writing reports, making telephone calls, maintaining records and case notes - liaising with doctors, family members, carers and other professionals and keeping them updated - planning further treatment and reviewing progress -adapting people's environments, whether at home or at work - assessing the patient’s emotional and physical state - maintaining clear communication and relaxed body language I believe that patients should be given the appropriate education to enable them to have greater understanding on how to manage their symptoms when performing their daily activities.
