I qualified as an Occupational Therapist as a mature student and achieved my goal of becoming a Children's OT whilst working for Virgin Care, and progressed to band 6! When, as a family moved counties, I took the opportunity to work in an acute hospital setting with adults. Always looking for new challenges, I'm now working for Millbrook Healthcare with the local wheelchair service. lots to learn, but keen to offer the best I possibly can. I have a massively diverse work history which means I am happy to have a go... I have been a mental health care worker, home care assistant, administrator, receptionist, PA, factory worker, waitress, checkout girl, cleaner, optical assistant, banking clerk, insurance advisor. As well as working with the general public, I have experience of working with individuals from all walks of life; prisoners, those with mental health issues, learning disabilities, children, and those with other additional needs. Just for fun, I have been heavily involved in the local scouting group as a leader of all sections and now chair of the Group's Executive Committee. one of my biggest achievements was to chair a local action community group, we worked alongside the locals and councils to get a fantastic new okay facility in the town's main park. I'm an active member of our church helping out with Sunday School and a member of the PCC. I am also a mum to 3 wonderful boys and married to John Gillard (my rock).
