Interests: Adult lower limb and young adult hip pathology Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction surgery Revision Hip and Knee replacement Hip and Knee arthroscopy Lower and Upper limb trauma Mr. Nithin Unnikrishnan qualified in 2003 and currently practices as a consultant with a specialist interest in Adult lower limb and Young adult hip pathology at the renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt orthopaedic Hospital. On successful completion of his specialist orthopaedic training on the Liverpool Orthopaedic Rotation, he subsequently undertook the Professor Sir John Charnley lower limb arthroplasty fellowship at the distinguished Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital which is considered as the pioneer and the birthplace of hip replacements. Subsequently he followed on to complete his second fellowship in young adult hip practice at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Young Adult Hip Unit, Birmingham, UK. He has also visited various renowned orthopaedic centres within the UK and abroad and presented extensively in both national and international meetings. In addition Nithin was awarded the Zimmer-Biomet Travelling fellowship in 2018 via the British Hip Society and British Hip Society European travelling fellowship in 2019. His clinical interests are that of Hip and Knee as well as Young Adult Hip pathology. His adult hip and knee practice involves hip and knee arthroscopy, primary and complex-primary hip and knee replacements, revision hip and revision knee surgery. His young adult hip practice includes young hip disorders, femoral-acetabular impingement and dysplasia. He is a promoter of enhanced recovery programme for joint replacement surgery. Nithin actively pursues an academic and research interest and has numerous peer review publications and presentations in both the British, European and American Orthopaedic literature. He is an active member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Hip Society, Royal College of Surgeons and British Indian Orthopaedic Society. He also holds the post of Honorary Senior Lecturer post at Edge Hill University, UK
