Mr Thiruendran Gunendran is a Consultant Urologist specialising in general urology, urological cancers and benign prostate disorders with over 18 years of experience. He is currently based in Manchester and sees patients at Wythenshawe Hospital and private patients at Spire Manchester Hospital.He completed his medical degree at the University of Bristol in 1999, followed by his specialist urological training in the North West. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2004 and a Fellow in Urology of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. He was appointed as a consultant urologist at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in 2009, having already worked at Trafford General Hospital and University Hospital South Manchester.In his current clinical practice, Mr Gunendran provides a wide range of general urology services including the following:Management of prostate enlargement (benign prostate hyperplasia)Lower urinary tract symptomsBlood in urine (haematuria)Prostate swelling (prostatitis)Testicular painForeskin problemsEpididymal cystsKidney stonesBladder lesionsHe also has special interests in all urological cancers, including penile, testicular, renal, bladder and prostate cancer.
