Dr. Cervantes is a well-rounded dermatologist and treats patients from all walks of life and ages. She has a special interest in skin cancer, and routinely conducts full body screenings that include mole and cyst checks, and evaluating her patient's skin for signs of malignancy. She treats patients for acne, eczema, psoriasis, shingles, warts, and other common everyday skin conditions, as well as performs lesion removal using the least invasive approach as possible. Dr. Cervantes is also a cosmetic dermatologist, offering laser treatments, injectables, and other state-of-the-art procedures to help soften the skin and diminish the effects of aging and sun damage. She enjoys attending dermatology meetings to stay current on the latest techniques. Dr. Tessa Cervantes, originally from the Rio Grande Valley, is excited to bring her skin care expertise to Snyder Dermatology in Austin, TX. As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Cervantes has a special interest in skin cancer prevention and treatment, medical and cosmetic dermatology, as well as both adult and pediatric dermatology. She is trained to offer the latest techniques associated with diagnosing and treating skin conditions that can often disrupt an individual's life, then helping them to manage it so that they can remain active and productive. While in medical school, Dr. Cervantes was the founder of the Run from the Sun 5K, served as Clinic Chief for the Student Run Skin Clinic, was President of the Dermatology Interest Group and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Dr. Cervantes graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin, and was a recipient of the Terry Foundation Scholarship. She completed medical school, and her internship in Internal Medicine, as well as her Dermatology Residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Cervantes served as Clinic Chief for the Student Run Skin Clinic, was President of the Dermatology Interest Group, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. She served as Chief Dermatology Resident during her final year in residency, and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented at several scientific meetings. Dr. Cervantes is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Austin Dermatology Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the American Medical Association. Dr. Cervantes has volunteered at Camp Dermadillo, an American Academy of Dermatology sponsored camp for children with severe skin diseases in Texas.
