Hi there, I'm Tammy! Hi. My name is Tammy Kirschner and I have been a licensed psychologist for 30 years. I work with young adults and adults on a variety of presenting concerns. I have been a psychotherapist for many years and have been trained in many approaches to therapy such as CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic, I believe each client has unique needs and no one approach is effective for all. My approach My approach to therapy differs based on the needs of my clients. I use Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, DBT, mindfulness-based therapies, and solution-based and positive psychology. I also have a Life Coaching certification. My focus I work with clients experiencing chronic depression, anxiety, and panic disorders, Bipolar Disorder, life and career transition, Borderline Personality Disorder, self-injurious behavior. My communication style I am a warm, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapist. I provide a validating space for my clients and believe that rapport and trust are the foundations of a productive therapeutic relationship. I also take a collaborative approach with my clients. My journey to mental healthcare Helping others has always been my North Star. I’ve worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as my private practice. Helping people feel relief from their pain, developing coping skills when they feel helpless, and guiding individuals through life’s many transitions have been my life’s mission. My goals for you Each client is unique with his or her own personal needs. After our initial session, we can begin to set some concrete goals that we can work towards in order to help you begin your journey toward reducing your pain and developing coping skills to live a more fulfilling life. My first session with you During our initial session, we will explore the reasons you have sought out therapy. We will also get to know each other better. While seeing a new therapist can be intimidating, I will help you clarify your needs.
