My view of the human condition stems from a Zen concept of "suffering" and "transience of life." I believe that suffering is an inescapable human condition and yet a basis for growth. We all go through the phrases where we feel lost, helpless, or defeated by life challenges erroneously believing suffering will never end. In these moments, therapy can help. As a therapist, I regard my role as a guide in your life journey just like the Sherpas for climbers in the Himalayas. The goal of therapy is to get mobilized, explore the meaning and purpose of your life, and eventually get back on track to pursue what you truly value in life.I specialize in treating the following illnesses: Mood disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma, Personality Disorders. My work can help with the following issues: Self-esteem, Anger management, Stress management, Interpersonal Issues, Coping Skills, Loss and Grief, Addiction, Cultural Issues, and Adjustment. While I'm intrinsically psychodynamic, I value other various clinical approaches tools and frameworks including cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing (MI).
