Having Qualified from St.Georges Medical School I continued my basic surgical training in London. My plastic surgery and upper limb training was split between London and Yorkshire and in 2000 I was appointed as a consultant plastic surgeon with a special interest in hand surgery. I work for the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and currently mainly perform hand and wrist surgery based at Pinderfields hospital. I am the head of clinical service for plastic and burns surgery and spend a significant amount of time try to improve local and regional services. I also work at Methley Park Hospital and concentrate all my effort into upper limb surgery allowing me to keep up to date in my sole area of speciality. I am a keen educator, trainer and researcher and a member of the British society for Surgery of the Hand and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons. Your hands are very important to you and also to me. The importance of hand function often only become apparent after injury or disease development making many straightforward tasks difficult on a daily basis. Though I will operate on many hands there are many that do not need surgery but a diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment. No matter how complex your problem I will endeavour to work with you and customise a treatment plan to suite your needs.
