Ms Shikainah Champion is a cognitive behavioural therapist at Surrey Therapy Practice. She is passionate about improving the lives of her patients and is able to assess her clients based on not only their clinical issues but also their overall well-being in order to deliver long-lasting outcomes following treatment. She has a personable manner and is able to put her patients at ease quickly.She specialises in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She has also trained as a behavioural couples therapist (BCT) at the University of North Carolina, USA, under the renowned couples therapist Prof. Donald Baucom, and she is able to help couples in areas such as communication, problem-solving, joint decision-making, and sexual intimacy.Ms Champion gained her BA in psychology from the University of Madras in India as well as an MA in clinical psychology from the University of Pune. She also holds several postgraduate diplomas and certifications.Aside from private practice, she works for the NHS in a psychological therapies service in South West London. She has worked with patients from a variety of different backgrounds and has expertise in creating personalised treatment plans in combination with evidence-based treatment.She is multilingual and able to conduct her consultations in Tamil, Hindi, Urdu, or English.
