Sharmin Banu Anam, M.D., is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician and sees patients at our Johns Creek location. Dr. Banu Anam was born and raised in Bangladesh, and she and her family relocated to Georgia in 2004. She earned her medical degree from Mymensingh Medical College in Bangladesh and completed her residency training at Emory University. Dr. Banu Anam’s medical interests include overall health and wellness, with a strong emphasis on preventative care such as school, sport, and annual physicals. She is also interested in acute care and chronic care management for diseases like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and mental health illnesses. Dr. Banu Anam treats patients of all ages; her oldest patient is 106 years old. Dr. Banu Anam is a current member of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP). She has received recognition from Emory for the scholarly projects she completed during her residency. Dr. Banu Anam resides in Peachtree Corners with her husband and their son and daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family and likes to garden in her spare time. Dr. Banu Anam is fluent in Bengali, Hindi, and Nepalese.
