My name is Samantha Blackmore. I trained as an Integrative Counsellor 20 years ago and since qualifying, have practised in a variety of locations, including GP’s Surgeries, Relate Centres and my own private practice. Changing my location from Devon back to Essex after many years, a coming home of sorts! I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and fully subscribe to their code of ethics. My training means that I can call upon several different theoretical approaches in my work with clients. More of which upon the Services page. My training has continuously developed and I've gained specialist Couples Therapy skills from my work with The Relate Institute. It is my fundamental belief that we all have the potential for growth and it is exactly this that empowers us to have a better quality of life, both in our relationships and careers. Understanding the patterns we live by gives us the potential to change the things we perhaps struggle with. I understand that it can be difficult to go to a Counsellor. I aim to create a comfortable atmosphere in which my clients can begin to explore their difficult issues and feelings.
