I am a dedicated individual and enjoy working within the Intake Team to provide services of prevention and enablement for service users within Medway Council. I have extensive knowledge of both Social Work and Occupational Therapy processes/policies and have established good working relationships within the team. I enjoy learning, developing my knowledge base and delivering theory into practice. I have significantly demonstrated this by studying on an advanced practitioner course within Occupational Therapy and other various courses. The leadership module in particular has provided me with the ability to increase my skills and diploma has helped with the management and support of other team members, whilst providing the underpinning theoretical context of change and development of services in line with current political drivers. This also included an understanding of team dynamics and dealing with conflict effectively As well as holding down a significant caseload, I am also responsive to change and assisting other staff through this process. Developing and equipping team members with the relevant skills for service need are always important and I feel that I constantly support people to establish this. I am also interested in service development and how this impacts on service users of which I am often keen to be involved. I have an ability to deal with complex cases in the team and can guide and support other members of staff through complex decision making and justifications for difficult interventions. I have excellent communication skills. I am hardworking, excellent in time management and work well individually or as part of a team. I have excellent communication and negotiation skills. I understand the importance of, and liaise well with other departments in order to aim to achieve a seamless service for service users and their families.
