Miss Sally-Anne Phillips is a highly experienced consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in conditions affecting the hands and wrists. When you consult with her, you can be confident that she will listen to your problems, take your concerns seriously, and advise you on the best course of action. Miss Phillips has always had a keen interest in hand surgery, particularly due to the combination of complex anatomy with finely detailed treatment to improve a patients overall hand function. She undertakes a wide range of hand surgeries ranging from hand reconstruction following trauma to carpal tunnel release and keyhole management of wrist pain. Miss Phillips undertook her medical training at University College London, where she also obtained a BSc (Hons) in the History of Medicine. She completed both her basic surgical and orthopaedic training in Scotland at the Edinburgh Orthopaedic Unit. In 2016, she was selected for the Training Interface Group Hand Fellowship, where she spent a year gaining extensive experience with specialists in Newcastle upon Tyne. She later earned the British Hand Surgery Diploma, awarded by Manchester University for excellence in knowledge and application of hand surgery. Miss Phillips is also involved in research, and she holds an MD for her work on T lymphocytes. Furthermore, she is currently the primary investigator for a trial involving patients with Dupuytrens disease.
