I am a self-employed occupational therapist providing a consultancy service to all age groups. I specialise in sensory processing difficulties and am able to provide a comprehensive screening and assessment service, including the 'gold standard' Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). I have extensive experience, gathered over 30 years, through work with Local Authorities, the National Health Service and in the Voluntary and Private sectors. I was awarded my professional doctorate in January 2016 for my thesis: Choice for people with learning disabilities in residential care settings: a discourse analysis. I also have post graduate certerificates in employment rehabilititation and sensory processing. I have worked with people with physical disabilties, learning disabilities and mental health problems in a wide range of settings, including hospital in-patient, day hospital, residential care, community and people's workplaces. I am registered with the HCPC, have PVG membership and full public liability insurance. I am also a member of the COT/BAOT and the special interest group Occupational Therapists in Independent Practice. I work with people in their own homes, in their workplace or in the community, providing assessments, reports and advice to individuals, their carers, employers or teachers to support engagement in activities of daily living. I would be pleased to receive enquiries with regards to research projects, particularly in the sphere of learning disabilities. I would also be interested in service development projects and have a particular interest in advocacy.
