Mr Richard Cole has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 1994 and developed special interests in reconstructive surgery and laser treatment. He also provides the full range of plastic surgery procedures ranging from skin cancer and hand surgery to aesthetic surgery, and has kept outcome data on a range of procedures. He works both in the NHS and also privately at various hospitals in central southern England. On taking up his consultant post Mr Cole became Training Supervisor and established Salisbury in the Registrar rotation with the Oxford and Stoke Mandeville Units. He has been closely involved with training and participates regularly in the ARCP/RITA days for the rotation. Mr Cole also initiated a video competency project based on the Royal College system using independent objective competence assessment. He has a strong track record in research and has published and presented on a broad range of topics within the specialty. He sits on two national Committees at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
