Description

Dr. Minelli is a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois. She specializes in comprehensive Autism evaluations for children and adults. Dr. Minelli has completed over 600 comprehensive Autism evaluations and over 300 Autism screenings. She is a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist and is trained in Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE).Dr. Minelli practices at Kaleidoscope Center in O'Fallon, IL. She also provides telehealth services to clients in AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, D.C., FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY.Psychologists often discuss the "waitlist crisis" for clients seeking Autism evaluations. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for someone to wait a year or longer before they can be seen for this type of evaluation. Additionally, people often have to drive hours to find a provider qualified to diagnose Autism. Unlike other providers who have long waitlists, Dr. Minelli can usually schedule new clients for a diagnostic appointment in 1-2 months. Message to clientsI work collaboratively with clients and their families to help them meet their goals. I know not all clients are able to drive to a clinic to complete assessments or participate in therapy sessions. That's one reason I offer both telehealth and in-person sessions when possible. If you are an adult who is interested in an Autism evaluation, I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions. For children (especially young children), an in-person session is often necessary; however, I can complete some of the evaluation via telehealth and I do offer Autism screenings for children via telehealth. I offer therapy sessions both in person and via telehealth. I specialize in short-term family therapy that is designed to help families improve their interactions and help parents and children develop new skills. I generally work with parents and children ages 1-10 years old and use Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE) techniques. If you are interested in learning new strategies to address your child's challenging behaviors or want to improve your communication and interactions with your child, this type of therapy may be a good option for you.
