After twenty-five years in healthcare, I am deeply inspired by organizations (and people) with a mission to improve humanity achieved through empowered teams, leveraging diversity of thought enabled by high-quality processes and advanced technology. As the child of a 15-year-old mother, I learned about being vulnerable, very early! A sort of wisdom developed from there. An ability to recognize vulnerability in others and a desire to strengthen their condition has been the undercurrent of my career and personal mission. I have served the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse and Healthcare Executive with over half of my career in both clinical strategy and operational leadership roles ranging from inpatient care delivery, clinical informatics & analytics, patient logistics, ambulatory and diagnostic scheduling, clinical surveillance, healthcare engagement and virtual nursing services inside both a sales-oriented healthcare service organization to a multi-state, highly complex integrated delivery organization. Most recently, I have served as a strategic clinical advisor to health tech start ups as well as mid-size healthcare technology companies. I am a strong advocate for workflows that optimize technology and data-driven leadership with an intentional focus on optimizing the workforce through inter-professional team interaction and inspirational communication. I am considered a thought leader and have spoken nationally on topics such as organizational communication, clinical workforce management, virtual nursing, virtual command center approaches to care, virtual/remote team dynamics and the impact to safe patient care and have partnered in the development of a recently-released virtual nursing certification. I leverage my cross-functional, deep expertise in organizational adoption of technology, process automation and disruption of work through innovation. I have experienced the healthcare system as a clinician, a leader, a patient, and an advocate for family members which inspires her to keep “fixing” a system that is cumbersome for those we love. The diverse array of teams I have formed range from clinical, safety, telemetry, patient logistics, clinical informatics, analytics, program management, portfolio management most with P&L responsibilities. I am most known for my ability to partner, inspire, keep accountable and advance a mission through stellar communication skills, leadership excellence and creativity.
