Philosophy of Care My philosophy of care is holistic care. A patient can easily be seen or identified as a disease he or she has in the field of medicine. I try my best to treat patients as a whole and always consider what backgrounds, culture, surroundings, and people shaped the person he or she is today. That is probably one of the biggest reasons why I went into family medicine. By listening and getting to know a patient, I can fully understand the patient which allows me to provide the best care I can for the patients with positive outcomes. The trust I gain from building that relationship with the patient is extremely meaningful and valuable to my practice of medicine because I believe that is the foundation of good care. Why I Entered Medicine I entered medicine with a passion to help others in need. I have watched my mother go through so much pain and suffering due to her medical condition until she met a group of excellent physicians and surgeons. They not only changed her life but also changed my life and enabled me to dream of something that I never imagined myself becoming. Once she regained her physical function, my mother brought in so much positive energy to the family dynamic, and she was beyond grateful that she was able to provide for her two children by herself. The influence the physicians had on my mother brought hope for a fulfilling life back to our lives. With this experience, I learned that a physician can indirectly and positively impact multiple lives at once and not just one person’s life. I want to be able do the same for others and share those special moments with them.
