My Professional Qualifications are:BSc (Hons) Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (University of Sussex), Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods (Psychology), Diploma in Translation (Trilingual), Certificate Therapeutic CoachingI have been in practice for nearly two decades since I qualified as a psychodynamic psychotherapeutic counsellor from the University of Sussex. I gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in the late 1990s. Before training in psychology and counselling I worked as a translator/interpreter and in research administration in Higher Education in London, Kent and East Sussex. My work is based on the psychodynamic approach to counselling and psychotherapy which helps clients to understand problems by increasing their awareness of how past relationships may influence their present issues. I also combine counselling and psychotherapy with life coaching skills for short-term, solution focused work.According to research bilingual and multilingual individuals express their emotions more easily in their first language or mothertongue (Aneta Pavlenko, 2005). As a multilingual psychotherapist I offer that space where English, French, Spanish or Portuguese clients are able to overcome the linguistic barriers that would prevent them from exploring their difficulties if they were to speak in their second language.I offer face to face, Skype or telephone counselling and psychotherapy sessions or a combination of these for
