Description

Clinical Interests & Experience - Stroke Rehabilitation - Trauma and Orthopaedics - Outpaitent Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation - Geriatric Rehabilitation - Palliative and Respite Care - Clinical Research - Chronic Condition management (e.g. chronic pain, leg ulcers) As a newly qualified occupational therapist, I have a strong belief in the power of people, as people as the ability to adapt, overcome and potentiate in the face of adversity. Over the past eight years, I have continuously & successfully undertaken a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to develop, cultivate and enrich my clinical practice in order to provide individuals with the best possible care I can, ensuring that no one person is forgotten or overlooked. My university years have allowed me to contribute and innovate to the evidence base that founds our clinical practice on numerous occasions albeit via research projects or my current position as a research intern for the University of Cumbria. Passion for innovation within clinical practice has fuelled my achievements throughout these 8 years are university, including the receipt of the Ede & Ravenscroft prize of outstanding academic achievement in 2018 and numerous nominations within the inspiring students awards. Alongside my studies, I have always possessed a strong passion for helping others, which has lead to me to create a non profit organisation called Loopy Lou's Legacy, allowing me to pursue my charity work, and reach out to families and homeless individuals during the Christmas period.
