I graduated from Coventry University in 2003 and have specialised in vocational rehabilitation often supporting clients following trauma and/or injury. I have developed my practice as an Independent Occupational Therapy within the field of vocational rehabilitation. https://www.achieve-rehab.co.uk/ in addition to currently working for an NHS pain and fatigue service. My previous experiences have included working within a national and internally recognised brain injury team vocational service. The 'Working Out' Team. I have also provided bespoke training in acquired brain injury and provided consultancy services regarding disability and vocational rehabilitation, offering clinical supervision. In addition to this I have experience working in mental health and paediatrics. My clinical experience is to provide a highly specialist service to clients who have complex health, vocational and social needs. I also have two years experience as a Case Manager so can align expectations within this area of practice. I offer a flexible approach to address issues regarding employability, in addition to residual physical, cognitive, sensory and emotional needs. I have a wide depth of experience using standardised assessments and functional observations to guide practice. Each week I facilitate clients to set up new vocational opportunities and explore activities to enable them to pursue new careers or job roles. Retaining a job after injury can be complex and often needs specialist intervention. To return to previous roles following changes in working abilities requires excellent communication skill with each unique employer. This relationship is different with each company and quite often the first time the employer / colleagues have experienced a person with a brain injury. My work is client focused and goal directed which results in positive outcomes and noticeable progressions for each individual I work with. I am creative and highly motivated which is reflected within my therapy.
