I work best with individuals experiencing complications associated with adoption, ADHD, and/or ASD diagnosis. These present as anxiety, trouble establishing a sense of identity, depression, lack/trouble maintaining motivation, difficulty sustaining/developing interpersonal relationships, familial conflict, poor academic performance, and underdeveloped communication skills. I help my clients understand how their brains are affected and how it can translate to their behaviors and perceptions of the world. I provide a space in session for clients to practice new skills so they feel better prepared for application.I believe developing a genuine therapeutic relationship is a foundational component in my work with individuals, couples and families. I strive to be authentic, direct, and collaborative in my counseling approach. Typically, I integrate counseling theories such as existential, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused.
