I am a Clinical specialist Occupational Therapist working within a Community Team . What excites me most about Occupational Therapy is the focus on the promotion of health and wellbeing rather than on mediating the negative effects of health-related problems. My current role is working with patients preventing hospital admission, reducing Falls and ongoing rehabilitation following an acute hospital stay with a variety of clinical conditions. The main focus is to support and increase physical and mental functions to support remaining home. I still enjoy my own leisure occupations and taking the time out to walk the dogs and kayak, although my favourite time at the moment is relaxing with a good book and preferably in a hot tub. My family are immensely important to me and make me proud every day. Without them I wouldn't be where I am today 😊
