After receiving my Bachelor's of Science in Education (Kinesiology) from the University of Kentucky, I moved to London, England to further my studies. I received a Master's in Occupational Therapy from Brunel University London and currently pursuing a certification of advance clinical practitioner in sensory integration. I am a Senior Occupational Therapist at a forensic mental health hospital where I am responsible for a caseload on a women's enhanced medium secure ward. Additionally, I have previous experience with men's medium secure services. In these roles I have developed an understanding of how mental health diagnoses have an impact on activities of daily living and use models of practice such as MOHO and VdT MoCA as a framework throughout the OT process. To add, I have a passion for teaching and have experience creating anatomy lectures for university students, hosting regular teachings for junior staff on various OT topics, presentations for colleagues on OT as a profession, and OT students on equality, diversity and inclusion. I too have created professional development presentations and corresponding learning videos to assist with the implementation of a new model into our service (VdT MoCA).
