I have worked within a variety of Occupational Therapy services for over 10 years both privately and within the NHS. I have been a Qualified Occupational Therapist for over 3 years and I also have post graduate qualifications in Ayres Sensory Integration SI3 (CLASI) which enables me to complete standardised sensory assessments and create personalised intervention plans with the young people and parents that we see. I currently work within a paediatric setting and have done this since I qualified in 2020; this is something that I have always had a strong interest and motivation for. Within this role I provide assessments for young people who present with a variety of challenges that influence their engagement in self care, independence, play and learning occupations. Most of these assessments are completed within their homes or educational settings. As I am a qualified sensory integration practitioner, I am also able to provide standardised sensory integration assessments such as the EASI and SIPT which help to guide interventions and provide evidence to support recommendations or EHCP applications/ reviews. I am very interested in the neuroscience behind behaviours and sensory processing / sensori-motor challenges and I am keen to learn more about this in the near future. I hope that this will further my knowledge and help to provide more individualised support for the young people that I see and their families.
