Life isn’t always straightforward, and as it is for many, life changing events led me to experience counselling for myself for the first time. I had been in a negative place for a while and knew I needed to do something, I just didn’t know what. On reflection, by the time I asked my GP for help and to refer me somewhere (anywhere), I was probably quite desperate. And to say I was apprehensive about opening myself up to a ‘stranger’ would be quite an understatement! But, I was committed. I knew that I wanted and needed a change to happen. My counselling experience ended up having quite a profound impact on my life. So much so in fact, that a number of years down the line I was inspired to make some fundamental changes and retrain to become a counsellor myself. This was the hardest but the most rewarding thing I have ever undertaken. Since making that decision, I have now worked within schools and educational settings, from Early Years through to High School. I am passionate about working with children and having a positive impact on their lives. I work in an integrative way with my clients, believing that each client should be treated as an individual. Working with issues including: Anxiety, Low Mood & Depression. ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD, Bereavement, Relationships, Bullying, Self Esteem and Confidence issues to name but a few. My therapy rooms are based at Dean Clough Mills, where I offer face to face, & video appointments. I am a registered member with the BACP, I have full insurance and I am DBS checked. Please feel free to get in touch for an initial conversation. Kathryn x
