Dr Kapil Bhargava is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon, specialising in skin cancer, skin surgery, hair and scalp disorders and cosmetic/ laser dermatology. He is frequently asked to provide second opinions for patients referred by other dermatologists. He is currently based at The Royal London Hospital where he is Lead Consultant for Skin Cancer and Mohs micrographic surgery. At St Thomas Hospital/ St Johns Institute of Dermatology he sees patients referred from across the UK for hair and nail disorders. He undertakes private practice from his Harley Street clinic. Dr Bhargava obtained his MBBS from University College London, graduating in 2003 and earning several academic prizes. After completing membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2006, Dr Bhargava undertook speciality training at St Johns Institute of Dermatology, leading to entry on the Dermatology Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in 2012. Subsequently he completed a Joint Royal Colleges approved Fellowship in Mohs and Advanced Dermatologic Surgery before taking up his role at St Bartholomews and The Royal London Hospital and setting up the Mohs surgery service. He has gained further experience internationally, including in the United States, Canada, and mainland Europe. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians based on endorsement by his colleagues locally and nationally. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr Bhargava is an invited speaker nationally and internationally on skin cancer, surgery, hair disorders and cosmetic dermatology and acts as a supervisor to specialist dermatology trainees. He has authored numerous peer reviewed publications and book chapters. He is a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation.
