Dr. Jon Pruett is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and grew up in the shadows of the LSU campus. After graduating from University High School, he attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. While at the Academy, he ran for the track team, boxed and was awarded Outstanding Cadet in Physical Fitness for the Class of 1993. He then served on active duty as a personnel officer for five years in the U.S. Air Force, including assignments in North Dakota, Texas and South Carolina. Early in his Air Force career, Jon began to take interest in the medical field because of a friend in medical school, and realized that this was the profession that he would like to pursue. This led to nearly five years of night school and the fulfillment of pre-med curriculum requirements. In 1998, Jon was honorably discharged from the Air Force and entered medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. During his final year of medical school, Dr. Pruett was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society representing the top one-sixth of the class. He graduated from medical school in May 2002. After one year of internal medicine training at Exempla Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Pruett went on to complete a three-year dermatology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He joined Trinity Dermatology, in June 2006 and received his American Board of Dermatology Certification later that year in August. He worked at this practice in Carrollton until starting Revival Dermatology. Dr. Pruett’s professional interests include the broad span of medical dermatology, skin cancer detection and surgical treatment and cosmetic procedures including neuromodulators (such as Botox or Dysport), fillers (such as Restylane or Juvederm) and laser procedures. Outside of work, Dr. Pruett feels blessed to spend most of his time with his wife and four kids, as well as travel, run and practice jiu jitsu — a simple but full life.
