Jeremi Hanson is a Marriage and Family Therapist located in San Francisco, CA. Jeremi’s practice focuses on adults and couples of all genders and orientations. Other clients feel the negative impacts of symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, or substance abuse in their everyday lives. Sometimes, her clients’ mental health leads to physical complaints like headaches, stomachaches, or insomnia.Jeremi leverages the powerful mind-body connection in her work with clients so they can find peace both physically and emotionally. She practices somatic therapy with roots in polyvagal theory, as well as incorporating several attachment-based elements into her sessions. Clients benefit from parts work, integrating the many different aspects of themselves so they can feel grounded in knowing who they are and how they want to show up in the world.Jeremi earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. She has certificates from the Hakomi Institute (mindfullness based psychotherapy) and the PACT Institute (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), and is passionate about exploring with clients what it’s like to explore the world when living authentically and with greater self-awareness and choice.Message to clientsHello and welcome! I know it can be hard to reach out and ask for help. I would love to connect and be a support to you if we are a good fit. I offer a free 15 minute intro call to help us both understand if working together could be of benefit to you. I offer both individual and relationship counseling. I work with queer individuals and couples often, though not exclusively. I am queer and trans knowledgable and affirming, and am queer myself. I am in San Francisco and offer sessions online across California. I enjoy collaborating with my clients to find a way of working that fits for them. Often I use somatic parts work and imagination. I find these effective in being with emotions and blocks in a new way that often leads to movement and deeper appreciation for oneself. I also teach nervous system regulation techniques in support of the work and my client's lives out of session.
