Dr. Janne Chuang is a Therapeutic Optometrist licensed by the Texas Optometry Board with a passion for exemplary patient care and education. She grew up in the suburbs of Houston and completed a B.S. in Human Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California San Diego. She has also worked closely with retinal specialists at the University of California San Diego for several years in coordinating a number of clinical trials for retinal diseases, including geographic atrophy in macular degeneration, uveitis, and AIDS/HIV retinopathy. Dr. Chuang went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston and trained at several community health centers in the greater Boston area, the VA hospital in Fresno, California, and a renowned practice in Beverly Hills. She received specialized training in specialty contact lenses, low vision, and ocular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Chuang also has a special interest in dry eye and contact lenses. Having grown up with poor eyesight with a need for glasses in the second grade, Dr. Chuang understands the importance of good vision and is dedicated to providing the best eye care and experience possible. She is passionate about patient education so that patients can be empowered to be as active and informed about their eyes and treatment as they would like to be. Outside of patient care, Dr. Chuang loves going on adventures with her corgi pup and Toyger cat. She also enjoys photography, rock climbing, cooking, baking, and good food.
