During this time, she gained hands-on experience at Gateway Community Service, where she worked with clients battling substance abuse in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Her fieldwork included targeted case management for clients ages 5 to 50, and she later transitioned to clinical counseling for individuals, groups, and families. This experience equipped her with valuable tools for providing quality care to individuals facing various personal and cultural challenges.Jamisha's passion for mental health support began in high school and grew through college. Recognizing her empathy and compassion, she pursued a career in social work to address the mental health needs of others and bring balance to their lives. As a therapist, she focuses on guiding clients through emotional complexities that affect different aspects of their lives, striving to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by educating clients on topics such as emotional expression, family dynamics, relationships, and trauma.
