As a Cognitive Behavioral therapist, I work with clients to identify unhelpful thought and behavior patterns that maintain suffering, interfere with quality of life, and inhibit day to day functioning. Along with CBT, I specialize in several evidence-based treatment modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe in “using what works” and designing interventions that are personalized to each client’s needs. This approach provides clients with a unique skillset that will continuously aid in personal growth and development across the lifespan.I work with clients to identify the root cause of their distress and replace unhelpful patterns of behavior with more effective and helpful strategies. In therapy, clients will learn to skillfully manage emotional and behavioral difficulties through therapeutic processing, skills building, exposure based exercises, problem-solving strategies, among others.I believe that success in therapy involves taking a collaborative approach that integrates the client’s values, cultural identity, interests, and knowledge areas. Over the course of therapy, clients will learn to appreciate these unique strengths and develop confidence in their ability to independently manage life’s stressors.
