By nature, I am a warm, open and compassionate person. I qualified as a Counsellor from Warwick University in 2006. I trained as an Integrative therapist and use a ‘Person Centred’ approach . I believe that given time and the right conditions of a non judgmental , confidential & safe space, we can be our true selves. When we feel safe, understood and heard we are much more likely to reveal our fears, most inner thoughts and feelings. I believe you are the expert on yourself, not me, but life can give us difficulties that can feel insurmountable/overwhelming and too much for us to understand, overcome or manage alone. Seeking help from a qualified and experienced therapist can be the start of a process that helps us make changes, find solutions, feel stronger and conquer the challenges that have negatively impacted our mental health & wellbeing. As an Integrative therapist I am able to draw on different methods and strategies that help us work together, at a pace you feel happy with and in a way that works for you. I have a wealth of experience, training and skill set, gained in various roles and in varied settings - including specialist counselling teams for Birmingham City Council, Education, Sexual Health, Disability and Private practice. I have additional qualifications and experience in Advanced Counsellor training, CBT, Sand Play therapy, Family mediation, Autism/Neuro Diversity, including ADHD, Domestic abuse, disability & Training the trainer. I continue to train, learn and develop my competencies that improve my ability to fully support my clients when they engage in counselling.
