From the age of 16 I knew that I had a calling to work within healthcare, but not just to add days to peoples lives, I wanted to add life to their everyday. Along came Occupational Therapy. I fell in love with everything this profession stood for, the history, the purpose, the opportunity. Very early on in my studies it was obvious my skills were better suited for being at the forefront with people instead of behind a screen. The experiences I have been exposed to working within a community Rapid Response team has made me a resilient, quick thinking and pretty good at remaining calm in a crisis. While studying I worked within retail to build my independence and core skills for navigating the world of work. I also had the chance during my studies to visit Thrissur India, working within one of the hospitals alongside trainee nurses. The life lessons I learnt there are unforgettable and has opened my eyes to the importance of living each day with gratitude and kindness. My personal skills include being a keen organisation enthusiast whether that be my space or my time. I am proactive in living as sustainably and eco-friendly as possible. But my passion in life is animals. I am working towards an under utilised niche within therapy which explores the important relationships between people and animals. My dream is to bring my two passions together and work alongside animals and people to enrich both of their lives. That's the dream.
