Dr. Acevedo was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She attended University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez Campus graduating with a Biology bachelor’s degree. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2014 and was at the Top ten of her class. After that she completed the residency program in Ophthalmology at University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. During this time, she performed research and presented posters at the ACRS and ARVO. She is member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Ophthalmology Association (AOA) and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ACRS). Dr. Acevedo is a Board Certified Physician and a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist proficient in English and Spanish, with special interest in Anterior Segment. Her procedures include but are not limited to Cataracts, premium lenses, Glaucoma Surgery, Keratorefractive Surgery (PRK), Pterygium surgery, Chalazion surgery, skin tags removal, eye lid surgery and Uveitis treatment.
