Dr. Bilgin is a residency trained optometrist who specializes in primary care, contact lenses and pediatrics/vision therapy. She studied at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and graduated with honors earning a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and Psychology. She studied Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia and graduated with Clinical Honors in pediatrics and contact lenses. After graduation, Dr. Bilgin furthered her training by completing a residency in Binocular Vision and Pediatrics at the SUNY State College of Optometry in Manhattan. Dr. Bilgin served as a full time Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY State College of Optometry for 9 years and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Berkeley School of Optometry for 1 year. Dr. Bilgin has extensive experience in the fitting and management of contact lenses, especially for patients with high astigmatism, keratoconus, and pediatric patients. She also has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye muscle disorders, binocular vision disorders, vision related learning problems and vision therapy. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and held the position as the Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes Vision Screening program in New York City for 3 years. Currently she is providing comprehensive eye care to both adult and pediatric patients. Her examinations include, but are not limited to general eye exams, treatment and diagnosis of dry eye and diagnosis and treatment of eye muscle disorders. She has a special interest in fitting and management of contact lenses including specialty contact lens fits. She is married with 2 young children and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
